Position Snapshot

• $4000-$4500 US / month DOE + flights
• Sail Yacht Experience (Essential)
• ASAP until Mid-March & April to Mid-May (flights home in between)

A high profile 55m SY is on the search for a deckhand with strong sailing experience to join their program for some ongoing relief.

The deckhand will join in Auckland to assist with basic maintenance whilst in the yard until Mid-March.

After which the vessel will fly the Deckhand home for a few weeks before rejoining the start of April for a delivery to Fiji, with the contract concluding around Mid-May

The ideal candidate will be located in the Aus/NZ region and hail from a strong sailing background, ideally having time on Superyachts

A unique senior deck opportunity has become available on a highly professional 55m private MY that is based in Sydney year-round.

The position could suit a Lead deck or Bosun returning from abroad who is seeking life balance on a professionally run program while still progressing both experience and tickets

• Ideally Australian or New Zealander – no visa holders due to limited employment duration.
• Deck Department consists of Chief Officer, Bosun, 2 x Deckhands, Temp Deckhands.
• The Bosun will need the skills and experience to lead the deck team in times that the Chief Officer is away from the vessel.
• The yacht operates a with large 11m chase tender and a 5.2m Zodiac tender that the Bosun will be operating and maintaining.

The Ideal Candidate:

STCW 95 Certificate

AMSA or ENG1 Medical certificate.

Yacht Masters (or higher) or Australian commercial ticket (Class 5 or similar) qualification

Must have clean driver’s licence.

Currently located in Australia.

Presentable and understands superyacht hospitality.

Exceptional eye for detail.

Enjoys being hands on.

Happy to assist across departments when required.

Tender or boat driving experience.

Looking to expand on deck skills and knowledge.

Professional attitude and willingness to learn.

Start: ASAP

Salary: Depending on Experience – Includes AUD Salary + Superannuation, 4 weeks leave, , medical cover etc.

Are you a Perth-based captain available for some freelance over summer or a permanent full-time contract?

• Own accommodation ashore required

Ticket Requirement: Master 5 or Master 200gt (or greater)

Salary: Great Day / Hourly Rates (above industry standard $+++)
