A high profile 50m private / charter MY is on the search for an experienced 2nd engineer to join their program.

The vessel operates a mix of private trips and charters and will be based in NZ/AUS region for the next 2 years, followed by a world cruise.

The 2nd engineer will support the chief engineer throughout all major maintenance and repairs, while assisting the deck team on occasion whilst on guest trips.

The position could suit a local Aus/NZ engineer out of a commercial cadetship program (yacht experience is not necessary)

The vessel will be undergoing a paint job, 5 years survey (pulling the rudders/ shafts) and other small jobs on the worklist

The vessel spends 90% of the year based in Sydney and would suit an engineer looking for a semi land-based superyacht position on a reputable program, with a healthy budget & solid crew.

The chief engineer will have a stack of engineering support with a 2nd eng and engineer / captain to assist with ongoing maintenance.

The vessel is a low to moderate use mostly consisting of day or weekend guest trips.

In the Australian winter the boss disappears to a larger European based Superyacht leaving the Australian yacht to undergo a yard and maintenance period.

The ideal chief engineer will have previous superyacht experience, hold a minimum of a Y4, seafarer medical , STCW  and looking for a long-term commitment to working in Australia

An amazing opportunity has become available for an engineer holding a Y3 or MEC 3 COC to go semi shore based on a high profile 50m private MY in Sydney, Australia

The vessel is low use and is used for private trips only, consisting of mostly day / weekend style cruises.

 

The Chief engineer will have solid engineering backup on this vessel with plenty of engineering support.

Ideally starting within 4 weeks for a handover with the outgoing chief engineer

The yacht is very flexible on location and nationality and will consider engineers worldwide.

The vessel is also flexible if the chief engineer would prefer to live onboard or ashore in Sydney

The vessel has the option for sponsoring a foreign engineer and therefore could be a unique opportunity for a foreign passport holder to live and work out in Sydney, Australia

The position could also suit an Australian / NZ chief engineer wanting a shore-based existence in one location.

This is a non-rotational role but will be based on 5 day working week with reasonable working hours.

The yacht is used for private use only, often spending large amounts of time in rarely travelled locations.

The owners thoroughly enjoy watersports (particularly diving), adventurous cruising and exploring.

The chief engineer should have excellent forward thinking in regards to repairs and spares and can come up with solutions when needed
