A very high profile 60m Expedition superyacht is on the search for a Bosun to join their unique program & team for some upcoming science & guest trips

The vessel is used for a mixture of private owner trips and scientific research.

Past science trips include: deep trench dives in the Indian Ocean & Ocean bed discovery missions in PNG

The Bosun must be competent on deck, can drive tenders, preferably have hands on experience with maintenance.

The Bosun will be leading a small deckhand team and should have time in a prior leadership position

Previous Superyacht experience is necessary in the Bosun role but other time in ‘hands on’ expedition style programs will be looked on favorably.

Must be professional in approach and understand the hospitality side of working on high profile superyachts.

Lots of action in his role for the right candidate and not your usual push the chamois yacht

While dive background is optional, candidates with previous deck/diver experience or time teaching in Dive schools will be highly considered.

The Bosun will join in Komodo , Indonesia towards the end of June

• Lead Deckhand or Bosun Experience yachts or commercial

• Master 5 or Yacht master + Tender Driving Experience

• Interested in Ocean Conservation

A high profile 45m private superyacht is on the search for an experienced deckhand to join their team of 10

The yacht operates a diverse program spending time in summer in both Sydney and Pittwater. Over Winter the yacht will venture further afield travelling to the Great Barrier reef or onto islands around the Pacific

There is an extremely high standard aboard this yacht and the deckhand must be clean cut and presentable at all times.

There is an excellent crew dynamic on board and candidates that can contribute to a happy, positive and professional work environment will be highly regarded.

While the position will involve the usual deckhand duties, the deckhand will also be mentored and trained in more senior responsibilities including bridge watches, anchoring, navigation, seamanship, crane operations, drills and big boat handling.

The successful candidate will have…..

• power boat level 2 / Coxswain or higher

• STCW 95, ENG 1, or AMSA Medical

• Excellent tender driving experience. Experience driving jet boats and jet skis

• Positive attitude and keen to listen and learn

• Some bridge watch experience

• Experience with docking and lines

• A genuine love for Water sports, fishing and the ocean. Dive qualifications will be a bonus.

• High attention to detail

• Full work rights for Australia

• Longevity in previous positions

• The ability to live ashore in Sydney

The yacht operates two deckhands who share the duties, working under an experienced Bosun and Chief officer

Itinerary: Sydney, Pittwater and potential East Coast or Pacific Cruising (in winter periods)

Salary: Above Australian industry standard and negotiable to secure the right candidate

Start: flexible, immediate for the right candidate

Conditions– Live ashore role (when not cruising) However the new Deckhand can live onboard initially in Sydney until the vessel arrives back from Whitsundays, likely in October. The deckhand should then look to acquire their own accommodation in Sydney. Would suit a deckhand interested in more of a land-based lifestyle while still doing a few trips away each year

This is an excellent opportunity to advance your deck career while also maintaining a shore-based existence.

The yacht will also consider solid candidates currently overseas, looking to return Sydney, however candidates located close for interviews will be highly regarded.

Are you a Sydney based yacht captain looking for a ‘new build’ program?

Position Snapshot

A brand new 76’ MY will arrive into Sydney Mid-June and the captain will assist with handover & stocking of the vessel.

The vessel has a long-term berth at the Spit, Mosman and the incoming captain should have good knowledge of Sydney Harbour & Pittwater cruising grounds.

The vessel will be used largely for day trips with a few staggered extended weekend trips throughout the summer / high season.

Low guest numbers 2-6 guests

The owner may consider taking the vessel to the Whitsundays over winter 2024 (*TBC)

2025 the owner is open to possibly shipping the vessel to the Caribbean for a 3-month season only before bringing the vessel back to Sydney for 2026 (Caribbean season is optional for Sydney captain & Sydney captain will retain employment)

The yacht captain will be expected to work 42.5 hours / week , anything above Lieu will be given in addition to further leave for any nights spent overnight onboard

The owner is open to a step-up captain looking for their first drive to someone with time already running vessels of similar size

The captain will be the sole fulltime crew member, but an additional stew/deck will be taken on seasonally if the vessel is away for extended periods or for any guest numbers > 2

Captain will have their own double cabin, stew/deck will be given a guest cabin

The owner usually takes care of themselves once onboard and brings external catering

$15k pa car expense (to also cover fuel expenses) allowance

Long distance travelling costs to be paid by owner (ie use company supplied credit card)
