A unique senior deck opportunity has become available on a highly professional 55m private MY that is based in Sydney year-round.

The position could suit a Lead deck or Bosun returning from abroad who is seeking life balance on a professionally run program while still progressing both experience and tickets

Ideally Australian or New Zealander – no visa holders due to limited employment duration.
Deck Department consists of Chief Officer, Bosun, 2 x Deckhands, Temp Deckhands.
The Bosun will need the skills and experience to lead the deck team in times that the Chief Officer is away from the vessel.
The yacht operates a with large 11m chase tender and a 5.2m Zodiac tender that the Bosun will be operating and maintaining.

The Ideal Candidate:

STCW 95 Certificate

AMSA or ENG1 Medical certificate.

Yacht Masters (or higher) or Australian commercial ticket (Class 5 or similar) qualification

Must have clean driver’s licence.

Currently located in Australia.

Presentable and understands superyacht hospitality.

Exceptional eye for detail.

Enjoys being hands on.

Happy to assist across departments when required.

Tender or boat driving experience.

Looking to expand on deck skills and knowledge.

Professional attitude and willingness to learn.

Salary: Depending on Experience – Includes AUD Salary + Superannuation, 4 weeks leave, , medical cover etc.

A high profile 45m private superyacht is on the search for a deckhand to join their team of 10

The yacht operates a diverse program spending time in summer in both Sydney and Pittwater. Over Winter the yacht will venture further afield travelling to the Great Barrier reef or onto the islands around the Pacific (Fiji or Tahiti)

There is an extremely high standard aboard this yacht and the deckhand must be clean cut and presentable at all times.

There is an excellent crew dynamic on board and candidates that can contribute to a happy, positive and professional work environment will be highly regarded.

While the position will involve the usual deckhand duties, the deckhand will also be mentored and trained in more senior responsibilities including bridge watches, anchoring, navigation, seamanship, crane operations, drills and big boat handling.

This is a terrific opportunity to advance your career and training, gaining experience that will catapult you into a senior deck or bosun position

The successful candidate

power boat level 2 / Coxswain or higher
STCW 95, ENG 1, or AMSA Medical
Some tender driving experience and wanting to improve. Experience driving jet boats and jet skis (highly desirable)
Positive attitude and keen to listen and learn
Some bridge watch experience
Experience with docking and lines
A genuine love for Water sports, fishing and the ocean. Dive qualifications will be a bonus.
High level of presentation
Full work rights for Australia
Longevity in previous positions
The ability to live ashore in Sydney

Itinerary: Sydney, Pittwater and East Coast or Pacific Cruising (in winter periods)

Salary: Above Australian industry standard and negotiable to secure the right candidate

Start: flexible, immediate for the right candidate

Conditions– Live ashore role (when not cruising)
