Candidate must be comfortable living in the remote French Polynesian Islands with basic Island lifestyle. There are no malls, multiplex cinemas, concert venues, or major night life. This is a beautiful destination where the water and nature are the entertainment and life. This is not a destination where you will be entertained by others.

 

The deckhand will work within an experienced deck team and will be offered training.

The vessel has a busy charter program and usually does very well on tips.

 

The ideal candidate should be located in Aus/NZ/Pacific or US regions and be available for an immediate start

 

1 season’s experience is required, PBL2 , STCW, seafarer medical and valid passport

The yacht is run with an experienced crew of 9 and maintains a permanent base on a remote island off Jakarta

The yacht will often have guests on board for one or two days on the weekend, occasionally do longer trips to Lombok and Komodo.

Yard times either in Singapore or Langkawi , Malaysia

the Deckhand should be fine with remote island living

The crew will have use of facilities on the island and large swimming pool, as well as the local islands to explore when no guests are onboard, lots of BBQ & volley ball games

Not huge sea time in this role but lots of training provided

Duties

The yacht is happy to fly the right candidate in if based along east coast Australia, prior yacht deck experience is essential

Are you a deck/engineer or 2nd engineer available for some temp work?

A well run 50m private MY is search of a temp 2nd engineer to join them in NZ for a brief maintenance period.

The vessel’s permanent 2nd engineer will be taking some annual leave and the incoming temp 2nd engineer will be working under an experience chief engineer assisting in projects / maintenance as required.

Requirements are as follows: –

Must hold an AEC or NZ equivalent qualification/licence.

Must have a bit of engineering knowledge (perhaps a trade background or time spent on previous vessels)

Prepared to live onboard the vessel during the time onboard and be part of the watch rota.

Salary: Paid in $US dollars and based on experience

Period: 16th Oct – 16th Nov (1 month)

The ideal candidates should be able to offer assistance to both the deck and engineering departments and should ideally have some painting skills.

Own accommodation ashore would be preferential but ok to house the dayworkers onboard or in the yachts crew house if coming with good experience and no accommodation.

Previous superyacht experience is essential , along with STCW and preferably based on the east coast of Australia

The vessel is currently cruising the Whitsundays with plans to head to Port Douglas for a series of trips involving relaxed cruises / dinners, guest functions and day excursions for fishing / spearing and diving.

The 15m chase tender is in survey and a terrific way for the Lead Deck to build up commercial drive time for larger tickets.

The owner is a keen fisherman and spearo with opportunity for the Lead Deck to accompany and buddy up if possessing the necessary experience.
