The Company

Responsible for the management and administration of the personal assets of a dynamic, inspired and thoughtful Brisbane-based family. These assets cover significant financial investments and a vast portfolio of real property – all of which are aligned with the long-term strategy of the family – helping to drive a constructive and sustainable impact across the environment, economy and / or society.

The Role

You will be reporting directly to the Principals of the family and responsible for the management of a portfolio of seven property assets that cover suburban residential Brisbane, Sunshine Coast Hinterland and coastal Noosa. Management of the properties will require liasing with staff members, contractors and external stakeholders to ensure each property is impeccably presented and available as required – either for paid guests or for the family’s use.

You will be responsible for recruiting and managing the team, which will likely include cleaners and gardeners, all of whom will be working across the properties on a full-time basis.

Working to a budget, you will need to implement scheduling of staff to ensure the properties are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and presentation, whilst the 3.5ha extensive gardens of the 25ha hinterland properties are impeccably kept.

You will be travelling between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast regularly to ensure the team is on track and delivering to the outcomes required.

Your Background and Qualities

This is a live ashore position and the ideal candidate will be based in the Brisbane to Sunshine Coast region, can work remotely, travelling between properties as required. Higher percentage of onsite located in Brisbane / Hinterland region

A car is provided or open to travel cost reimbursements

Open to candidates looking to relocate but candidates already established in the region will be highly considered

Start: Flexible (when found)

A lovely Brisbane owner is on the search for a casual tender captain to work with him casually over the Dec / Jan period.
The vessel is a triple outboard day tender that will be used for fishing and the occasional trip to Moreton Island
The Tender captain should be based in the Brisbane area, have a recreational boat license minimum and be available for ongoing casual work over summer

Goals & objectives

To provide confidential, professional and friendly support to the Principal and the household, primarily focusing on ensuring the Residence procedures are implemented and followed.

 

To provide efficient and friendly support to the family and guests.

 

To work with and supervise the team in ensuring the Residence is clean and tidy at all times. All areas are to be well cared for and maintained to ensure a continuous high standard.

 

To provide all assistance with the privacy of the Principal and family is of the utmost importance.

 

 

Reports & responsibility to:

The House Manager / PA reports directly to the Principal.

 

 

General Duties & Expectations

 

  1. Ensure home is:

 

(a)          TIDY      (each time you come)

(b)          CLEAN                (Monday & Friday)

 

  1. Wash, dry, iron (arrange dry cleaning & mending when necessary) and put away clothes, linen, etc.

 

  1. Assist with styling of Principals clothing, especially prior to travel, and packing/unpacking.

 

  1. Ensure food, drinks, toiletries, dog & fish food and cleaning products are available and purchase other items requested from time to time.

 

  1. Check mail, which is to be left in the Transit Room. Maintain other office equipment & keep stationery supplies up to date.

 

  1. Travel assistance, assistance with entertainment and guests.

 

  1. Assistance with the dogs.

 

  1. Assistance at the office from time to time.

 

  1. Liaise with Principals office Personal Assistant if mail received in Principal’s absence.

 

  1. Assistance with business administration.

 

  1. Assistance with household administration, diaries and maintenance logs, including other residences associated with the Principal

 

  1. Assistance with table settings, flowers etc.

 

  1. Assistance with basic and healthy meal preparation.

 

  1. Assistance to Son and family if needed.

 

  1. Liaise with:-

 

  1. To handle and manage cash and credit card transactions, including the monthly balancing of accounts.

 

  1. To report any incidents and/or concerns directly and immediately to the Principal and to ensure workplace health and safety expectations are met.

 

  1. To supervise and direct other household staff including chef and maintenance officer. Note maintenance officer’s principal duty is cleaning.

 

  1. To provide exceptional service to Principal, family and guests.

 

  1. To be well presented and appropriately groomed to reflect Principal’s attitude to life and reputation.

 

  1. To answer and appropriately direct telephone calls and “walk in” enquiries.

 

  1. Carry out any other duties that may be required, including assistance for functions.

 

  1. Understand the businesses and key personnel of Principal’s major companies

 

 

Working Days & Hours

 

The typical roster for the House Manager / PA is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.  Public holidays falling on a rostered day are part of the normal working week, except Good Friday, Xmas Day and Boxing Day.  This means double time (usually a half day worked with full day pay) or an application for leave is made.   Flexibility with workdays / hours will be required as well as given.  Salary takes into account the roster and flexible work arrangements. Leave Entitlements as per the legislation.

 

Motor Vehicle

A current driver license and own car are essential. A staff car is available for errands during the day, and if unavailable km’s will be reimbursed at the standard tax rate.

Previous Experience

Ideally hailing from a superyacht stewardess or house management background

Own accommodation ashore (at own expense is required)
