The position would suit a lead deckhand with a few years experience looking to step into a senior role, working on further tickets , on the path to an officer on a larger yacht

The working week is typically 5 days / week with 2 days off

Good long-standing crew in place and the Bosun will be given a thorough handover

The Bosun will work under the guidance of a very experienced 1st Officer who has been with the vessel for several years + 2 X rotational Captains

The vessel operates a chase tender and the Bosun must have solid driving skills

The vessel rarely stays at anchor and trips are often short day excursions or in dock functions

Crew can live on or off the yacht and will consider candidates in all locations permitting they have the necessary work rights for Australia

The vessel is used for a mixture of private owner trips and scientific research.

Itineraries include Australia (West Coast, Kimberley) , PNG, Indonesia & potential for Antarctic

 

The Bosun must be competent on deck, can drive tenders, preferably have hands on experience with maintenance.
