A 40m private SY currently in Australia is on the search for a sole engineer to join for their Fiji season (and perhaps beyond)
The yacht is run with 6 crew and the engineer should be able to work well in a tight-knit team.
The captain has been with the vessel for some time and acts as a tremendous support to the engineer with his knowledge of the ships systems.
Previous sail yacht experience is not necessary although it would be advantageous more when assisting the deck department or helping with watches underway.
The yacht will look to head to Fiji in May with the season wrapping up close to October/November.
After the season the vessel may head to NZ or Australia
The engineer should have previous engineering experience on yachts and must be hands on in their approach.
The crew are very active / fun /professional and the owner very respectful, the engineer will enjoy their time in Fiji for the season
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous engineering experience on yachts
- Flexible on ticket (AEC or MED2 preferred)
- Trade background (favorable)
- Work rights for Australia / NZ
- Can work well with a small team
- Good technical knowledge
- Can stock up on ship spares prior to Australian departure
- Can troubleshoot any problems that may arise
