Position Snapshot

A lovely Australian owner is on the search for a captain / engineer and stew/cook (or stew / deck) team to join their QLD based program.
The vessel is run with 3 fulltime crew (deck/mate being 3rd position)
The yacht usually has a 4-6 month winter season operating along the east coast of QLD from Gold Coast to Cairns , but mostly around the Whitsundays / Gladstone region.
The owner enjoys relaxed cruising with family and friends and also likes to go diving , sometimes buddying up with one of the crew members onboard.
As the vessel is run with 3 X fulltime crew, everyone works across departments to ensure a smooth operation and a pleasant experience for the owner when onboard.
The offseason (Spring/Summer) can be spent at the Gold Coast or Airlie Beach and the owner is happy to work with the preferences of the captain.
A thorough handover will be given with the outgoing crew of several years.
Cooking requirement is basic family style
Open to all levels, up and coming candidates and also candidates near retirement
The Ideal Candidates
- Captain / Engineer and stew/cook or deck/stew team
- Flexible on captain ticket (private only)
- Experience along east coast QLD preferred
- Dive experience favourable
- Are happy with a diverse role where departments are fluid
- Enjoys a Busy on season and quieter off season
- Will offer a firm commitment
- Working rights for Australia
Start: 2-4 weeks
Salary: TBC (Paid in AUD + Super)
