A lovely wholesome family of three are seeking an experienced Senior Housekeeper to help them with the daily management of their home. The family consist of a busy professional couple with an 8-year-old child. There is a nanny who looks after the child, the household provisioning and meal preparation.

Candidates must be comfortable with animals, as there are guinea pigs, mice and chickens. The household are very conscious of their environmental impact and like to use eco-friendly products and methods where possible.

Someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for smooth daily operations would be warmly welcomed into this role.

This is a dual role encompassing some household management duties, along with some general housekeeping duties. Ensuring all areas of the home are hygienic, clean, well-presented, and well maintained.

This is a private family and the successful candidate will have the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.

HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT DUTIES

The ideal candidate will:

Be the first point of contact for all domestic staff (gardener/housekeeper)
Manage all Repairs and Maintenance to ensure the smooth running of the home (they have a team of external contractors already established)
Inventory Management (Household Cleaning and Consumables/Wine Inventory/Festive Decorations)
Assist in organisation of the residence, pantries, linen/storage cupboards, wardrobe, etc.
Ad Hoc Tasks as required
Some Event Management Skills are required

HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES

The home is a large property with a regular weekly cleaner in place, so your duties will revolve around:

Opening the house daily (squaring away the kitchen/family room/common areas)
Managing the bedding & towel changeover schedule (Making beds/Fresh Towels)
Laundry Management (Washing/Ironing)
Assisting with general housekeeping duties (Dusting/Vacuuming/Mopping/Sweeping/Tidying/Bathrooms/Rubbish removal)
Assisting with Pet Care

CHILDCARE SUPPORT

Occasional support to the family in childcare responsibilities when either nanny is sick or parents have early meetings, such as taking to or picking up from school, preparing school lunch, providing some supervision if child is at home, etc.

WORKING HOURS

Working days would be 4 days a week, Tuesday through to Friday.

16-20 hours per week (4-5 hours per day)

Some additional hours may be required, or flexibility on working hours may be required, from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be an Australian resident, as they are seeking longevity for the years to come
Hold a Police Check and Working with Children (or able to acquire)
Driver’s License and Own Car (Willing and able to run errands as required)
Be reliable, trustworthy and discreet
Great communication skills
A high level of attention to detail
A friendly, positive attitude
Keen ability to prioritize important tasks
Take pride in your work and apply energy to what you do
Ability to work without supervision
Previous housekeeping experience in private homes
Knowledge of laundry, sorting, washing and ironing (including delicates)

REMUNERATION

The hourly rate is $40-$45 + Super, depending on experience and if the candidate would prefer to be employed Part Time or on a Casual basis.

Are you a stewardess/housekeeper looking for an ongoing part-time position in Sydney?

Staff: 2 days / week working in a team

Days: Tuesday and Friday

Hours: 8hrs / day

Start Time: 8am (includes lunch break)

Employee or Contractor

Must have: Good attention to detail

Experienced when dealing with fabrics, fixtures and fittings, knowing how to take care of them or open to learning.

The Housekeepers will be working with our Building Manager and chef, and in charge of the internals of the house. The position will include such duties as:

Changing of beds weekly
Changing of towels
Cleaning of bathrooms
Vacuuming and mopping
Dusting
Cleaning all kitchen surfaces, appliances, glassware and organising drawers / shelves
Follow procedures in the kitchen for the Gluten and Gluten Free areas
Support the chef with any queries they have and guide them on how to look after their space at the end of each shift
Some Laundry
Ironing
Organisation of linen and manage re-stocking when necessary
Outdoor furniture preparation every Friday for the weekend
Deep clean of draws, shelves, wardrobes and fixtures and fittings etc. on monthly/bi-annual/annual rotation
Assisting with any event preparations
Reporting any maintenance issues to the Building Manager
Receiving any deliveries
Managing re-stocking lists

The position will include some training from a senior Housekeeper, particularly on the care of specialized materials and fabrics
