Position Snapshot
- 2nd Engineer (fulltime role)
- MTU Jet engines
- Live Onboard or Ashore
- Work under an experienced Y3 Chief Engineer
The yacht is used for strictly private use and will mostly be utilized within the Sydney Harbour region, although trips further afield are not completely off the table
The position would suit someone trade qualified looking for their 1st superyacht role or a deck/engineer wanting to head into a permanent engineer role
The working week is typically 5 days / week with 2 days off
Good long-standing crew in place and the 2nd engineer will be given a thorough handover
The 2nd engineer will work under the guidance of a very experienced, ticketed marine chief engineer who is happy teach / mentor and sign off task for further engineering tickets
MTU experience would be favourable but not essential (twin MTU engines of 3480 hp each)
2nd engineer will learn to look after toys & tenders, some electrical and support the chief in all major projects
The role will be blended with some basic deck duties when guests are onboard and the 2nd engineer should be keen to learn in both departments , but 90% engineering
The Ideal Candidate
- Preferably trade qualified or deck/engineer time
- Excellent attitude, keen to learn
- Basic knowledge of yacht engineering systems
- Some electrical, AV knowledge
- Can drive a small tender & help out on deck
- STCW
- Hands on with engineering
- Not looking for allot of offshore time
- Enjoys working with a professional team
- Meticulous with routine maintenance schedule
- Can step up during yard periods to assist chief
- Work rights in Australia
