Want to understand your rights as a Seafarer?

The MLC, 2006 is an international convention developed under the International Labour Organization. It consolidates a number of existing labour conventions, while introducing modern standards relating to the working and living conditions of seafarers at sea.

Where do I go for crew training?

Whether you’re new to the industry or looking to go that next step in your career appropriate training is paramount.

All crew entering the industry should look to hold the basic certifications required for all ocean seafarers including an

  • STCW95
  • ENG 1 (seafarer medical)

Superyacht Crew Academy was the first International Yacht Training partner in Australia.

Founded by Chris and Deborah Brown in 2000, the Superyacht Crew Academy was the first Australian partner of International Yacht Training Worldwide.

More recently they have been working tirelessly to create courses for returning crew, building bridges from MCA qualifications to AMSA.
